On my quest to find new and exciting properties in tropical destinations for my wedding couples, when I was presented with the opportunity to visit the New Hyatt Ziva Cancun, I knew I couldn’t resist. I have to say, Cancun is often overlooked as a prime destination for a wedding due to its passé stigma of being a “party” atmosphere, but I can assure you this unique, high end luxury property on the tip of Cancun has certainly changed my view and I am confident it would do the same for anyone staying here. Although it was difficult to narrow down, here are my top 5 reasons this property should be number 1 on your list when planning your dream destination wedding.
1. An Ocean Front Warm Welcome
From the moment you and your guests step off your Hyatt Ziva & Zilara private airport transfer, you are greeted with warm smiles and a hand over the hearts of the many staff waiting in the circular driveway to welcome you. This is a greeting you will find whenever you pass by any of the resort staff throughout the property and you will be surprised to find yourself doing it too before your stay is over. The grandiose lobby here knows no boundaries, with a giant open concept design that allows the warm ocean breeze to envelope your senses as you look out onto an ocean view that takes your breath away. This was a welcome I will truly never forget.
2. Dining for Days
When it comes to all-inclusive resorts and especially my wedding groups, cuisine quality, variety and accessibility are always high on the list of “must haves”. The Hyatt Ziva Cancun left me wanting nothing during my stay and I went out of my way to try everything they had to offer. With 6 a la carte restaurants ranging from the most authentic, fresh Mexican seafood fare at Habañeros to a juicy burger with fresh cut fries at Chevy’s 50’s diner, I constantly found myself raving about the food – and the best part is, you don’t need to make reservations and they even offer 24-hour room service! And that’s not all – they have an on-site Micro Brewery, Tequila Bar, Authentic Mexican Café and a Dessert Shop that will cater to anyone with a sweet tooth. If the cuisine this property offers at their restaurants is any indication of what they can do for a catered wedding, I can only imagine how amazed your guests will be enjoying the menu you’ve selected for your special day.
3. The Spa
During my stay we did encounter a day of some not so pleasant weather, my one dread on vacation. Fear not – I took it upon myself to try out their spa and let me tell you – that was the best rainy day I’ve ever had!
With 13 treatment rooms, dual temperature whirlpool hot tub, sauna, steam room, and indoor pool equipped with a waterfall, I found myself relaxing the hours away and forgetting I ever saw a stormy cloud in the sky. And the service was amazing – they even come in periodically to offer you water and a cold cloth while in the steam room or sauna! And when it comes to groups, they’ve got it all figured out. With a beauty salon and large private bridal suite, this is truly the perfect place to get all dolled up to say “I do”.
4. Location, Location, Location
This stunning resort in my opinion is in the perfect location in Cancun. Located at the tip of the peninsula on Mexico’s Yucatan Coast, wherever your view may take you, you always feel like you are the only resort around for miles. This property also offers 2 private beaches with the softest white sand I have ever seen and a large selection of palapas, Bali beds and cabanas no matter what time of day you get down to the beach. For those in your group that are looking for something to do off the resort, the Hyatt Ziva Cancun is situated only 600 metres from the famous Cancun Strip, filled with amazing couture shopping by day and authentic Mexican music and dancing by night.
5. Breathtaking Ceremony Locations
The wedding gazebo at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun is by far one of the most breathtaking locations for a wedding couple to exchange vows with their closest family and friends. Arched out on its own pier at the tip of the peninsula, this large, stunning gazebo showcases a sunset that is sure to create long lasting memories and photographs that you will be amazed by. If you have a guest list that just keeps on growing, they've got you covered as well. This property offers a large sky terrace with its own private elevator and shares the same majestic sunset overlooking the peninsula. Whether it's sand, sea or sky – the Hyatt Ziva Cancun is sure to create the perfect wedding location for you.
