You can expect a lot from Las Vegas: adrenaline-pumping nightlife, grand tours of national parks, award-winning restaurants, luxurious hotels, and thrilling live entertainment, for starters.
But one thing you might not expect of this spectacular desert city is that it’s also a prime destination for a winter sport!
That’s right, tens of thousands of curling fans will hurry hard over to Vegas this January to see the top curling athletes take to the ice sheets to battle over the coveted World Financial Group Continental Cup title.

The 2019 Continental Cup will be an action-packed extended weekend, running January 17-20 in the Orleans Arena, just west of the famous Las Vegas strip.
This year, Canucks can look forward to cheering on Olympians and world champs Rachel Homan of Ottawa, Jennifer Jones of Winnipeg, Kevin Koe of Calgary, and Brad Gushue of St. John’s, plus current Olympic men’s champion John Shuster and reigning U.S. women’s champs Jamie Sinclair will also be representing Team North America.
Leading the charge for Team World will be Sweden’s Anna Hasselborg and Niklas Edin, who won the Olympic women’s and World Men’s championship last season respectively. That array of superstars will be playing in this competition’s unique format including mixed doubles, team, and skins games.
What to do while you’re in Vegas
In between competitions, there will be plenty of time to raise the stakes and roll the dice in the entertainment capital of the world (and see for yourself if the house really does always win).
Not to mention the dazzling Grand Canyon and other unmissable Vegas experiences you can easily opt into when you book your curling trip with Flight Centre Groups, the official air and activity providers for the 2019 World Financial Group Continental Cup.
