Lots on the Go in Los Cabos, Mexico!
To me, the best part of Los Cabos isn’t the immense beaches and waters filled with dolphins, whales and sea lions. It isn’t the palm tree-lined streets; the rows of shops, restaurants and bars; it isn’t even the delicious seafood and tequila. It’s the two vastly different main towns, Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo, where you can find absolutely everything you’d want from a vacation destination.
There’s the bustling, vibrant city of Cabo San Lucas, which hosts a plethora of shops, restaurants and bars. There’s also a large marina, which is a launching pad for many different activities – sea-doing, dinner-cruising, whale watching and visits to El Arco – Cabo’s famous and gorgeous stone arch.
One of my favourite spots in Cabo San Lucas is Crazy Lobster, a restaurant where you can eat a lobster tail with rice and beans AND a shot of tequila for about $10USD. Cabo San Lucas is also home to the infamous bar, Cabo Wabo, which is owned by equally infamous rocker Sammy Hagar. There are several gorgeous hotels just steps from the busy streets of Cabo San Lucas, like ME by Melia and Riu’s Sante Fe and Palace properties.
Approximately 28 km to the east of Cabos San Lucas, on the opposite side of the peninsula Cabo San Lucas, is San Jose Del Cabo. This quaint town offers many charming shops selling hand-made blankets, silver jewelry, cigars and a variety of tourist memorabilia. There is also the Parroquia San Jose church, a historic building in the main plaza that sits grandly across from a gazebo where local musicians play as you stroll the streets.
I have stayed at both the Crowne Plaza and the new Barcelo property in Los Cabos. Both hotels offer amazing service, with unbeatable ocean access and limitless food and activity choices. The Barcelo is a chic, modern answer to travellers looking for some luxury on their vacation. The rooms are equipped with Smart TVs, from which you can control the lighting, order wake-up calls and access the Internet. The Crowne Plaza is a staple hotel, which offers five pools, five restaurants, four bars and unlimited access to volleyball, the game room, spacious gardens and large theatre for live shows.
Los Cabos has world-class fishing, golf courses, luxury hotels, a comfortable climate and several little towns to explore. It is home to stunning Pacific sunsets and crazy Mexican night clubs. Los Cabos is definitely a spot I will return to time and time again, because I know it will consistently offer me everything I could ever need on vacation!
Los Cabos, Mexico is highlighted on the Flight Centre travel map.
