Dreaming of relaxing in French Polynesia? Flight Centre Travel Consultant Tamara Godsell shares her Top 10 Must See’s in French Polynesia with us:

10. View of Moorea from a Ferry

The most convenient way to travel from Tahiti to Moorea is by the high speed ferry, but this is also a great opportunity to take in the beautiful Moorea landscape from sea.

9. Deep Ocean Spa at The Intercontinental Thalasso

This spa stands out because of the vast and innovative treatments offered, as well as the out of this world setting it is in (including over water and glass bottom massage rooms). Using mineral rich waters drawn from 800 meters under the sea this is a one of a kind spa experience with many health benefits. Extra info- You don’t have to stay at this resort to experience this pampering- Intercontinental offers water taxi transfers to get you there.

8. Sting Ray Swim in Bora Bora

Getting in the water with these amazing creatures is an intriguing, nerve racking and exhilarating experience. Guarantee they will have you nervously laughing the entire time!

7. Tiarei Araho Blow Hole in Tahiti

Not too far from the city of Papeete, this roadside attraction is something to see. Set in the middle of an old road, with many local surfers riding the waves around you, don’t get too close to this natural wonder- it just may blow you away.

6. Municipal Market Papeete

Many local vendors can be found here selling everything from fresh fruit, to sarongs, to black pearl jewellery. A must see for shoppers; just make sure you get there early as things start to close around 3pm.

5. Waterfalls in Tahiti

This is not something I was expecting to see here, but it is a beautiful natural sight to see. There are various waterfalls all around the island and the mountainous landscape makes for great photo opportunities.

4. Mount Otemanu in Bora Bora

This mountain is your gorgeous view from everywhere on the island. The interesting thing is, depending on where you are on the island the mountain changes shape. You will feel insignificant in comparison to this sublime sight.

3. Turtle Sanctuary at Le Meridien Bora Bora

This is a great place to spend some up close time with sea turtles. You can see a feeding, and learn more about these delicate and beautiful creatures. Their goal is to educate people while letting them interact with these little guys, in an effort to stop them from being killed by humanity. You will fall in love with their sleepy eyes and calm energy- this is a must see!

2. Magic Mountain in Moorea

You can get to this peak by ATV or guided vehicle tour. It is a challenging and steep trek up, but completely worth the spectacular views once you reach the top! Out of this world, indescribable beauty is what you will witness from the peak of this mountain.

1. The Lagoon of Bora Bora

This sight earned it’s spot as #1 must see in French Polynesia, because of its ability to inspire awe regardless of how many times you see it. The lagoon is the heart of Bora Bora’s beauty. Home to coral reef and numerous other creatures, you will get lost in the calm bluer than blue water. It is just gorgeous!
