Icelandair Online Check-In
Did you know that Icelandair passengers departing from Canada and Europe can check-in online as early as 36-hours prior (24-hours prior for flights to/from USA) to departure? Simply enter your name (as per ticket) and your Icelandair reservation number to locate your booking, select your seat, complete the online check-in process and head for the airport.
Once there, visit the Icelandair check-in desk to obtain your boarding pass and to tag and check your luggage. Online check-in is not available from Belfast and Aberdeen. Check-in online now.
Icelandair Mobile Check-In
Once online check-in is completed, Icelandair passengers using Apple's iOS Passbook/Wallet app for iPhone can store their Icelandair boarding pass on their mobile device. This electronic boarding pass can be scanned by airport security just as a paper boarding pass would be.
Checked-in passengers using an electronic boarding pass who wish to check-in luggage must still visit an Icelandair check-in desk to drop off their luggage prior to clearing security.
Icelandair Check-in at the Airport
If you choose not to check-in online in advance, please proceed to an Icelandair check-in counter on the day of your flight to check-in, check luggage and to obtain your boarding pass. If you are travelling with any excess baggage, you can pay any fees due at this time.
Make sure you have a valid passport with at least 6-months validity (from your ticketed return date), your e-ticket, as well as any travel visas you may need.
Certain designated airports offer the option of self-service check-in kiosks where Icelandair guests can check themselves in, as well as print their luggage tags. Once checked-in, luggage can be left at a bag drop station.
Airports offering self-service kiosks include Edmonton, Montreal, Vancouver, Reykjavik, Amsterdam, Billund, Boston, Chicago, Copenhagen, Denver, Frankfurt, London (Heathrow), Oslo, Paris (Orly and Charles du Gaulle), Seattle and Stockholm.
Icelandair Check-In Times
If you are departing from Canada, online/web check-in opens as early as 36-hours prior to departure and closes 1-hour prior to departure.
If you are checking-in at the airport, either with a check-in agent or by using a self-service check-in kiosk, it is recommended that you check-in between 3.5 and 3-hours prior to departure. All check-in closes 1-hour prior to departure.
For check-in times at all other airports, please visit the Icelandair Airport Information page.
