It’s true, Canada’s sheer expansiveness means it’s often cheaper to fly out of the country than within it. But if you’re looking for a budget-friendly way to shake things up this winter or for 2021, homegrown holidays can be a solid option – no passport required.

We’ll show you how to love where you live with affordable domestic flights that go for about $300 or less.

Toronto – Calgary

Whether you’re planning a fun city break or an outdoors adventure in nearby Banff, Calgary always makes for a great trip.

With the recent news of YYC’s rapid testing pilot project, flights to Calgary have been looking very affordable lately, even from Pearson airport! You’re looking at around $250 or less for several dates through early winter.

Let’s see… 10 hour drive or 90 minute flight? When you just want to escape the cold for the weekend, flying over the Rockies is a no-brainer. Spend a couple of days shopping and dining in Vancouver, and enjoying the milder temperatures.

Air Canada

For flights set to travel between March 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021, you can make a one-time change or cancellation without a fee, and rebook later if your original travel is between March 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021.

WestJet

All flights booked between March 3, 2020 and December 31, 2020 will be allowed a $0 one-time fee waiver for changes or cancellations. The value of cancelled flights will be returned as a Travel Bank credit, valid for 24 months from the date your flight was cancelled.

Air Transat

Book a flight to any destination by December 31, and if your travel plans change, you can reschedule your travel dates or destination (or both!) at no charge up to 24 hours before departure.

If you want to cancel your flight, you may be eligible for a waived cancellation fee depending on your seat class, and you will receive a transferable future travel credit with no expiry date.
