One of its main selling features, however, is that Aerocity boasts minimal traffic as no locals actually live there.

Whether you're exploring the winding streets of Old Delhi or strolling through the leafy boulevards of New Delhi, you'll find that the city is fairly walkable. You do need to be aware of vehicles using the sidewalk as a shortcut.

Boy oh boy, if you’ve only got one day in Delhi, let’s hope you’ve had your multivitamin because it’s going to be a big one! First up, Jama Masjid. Visitors can climb to the top of the minaret and gaze at the bustling streets of Old Delhi below. Then, Red Fort. This one is self explanatory. Next, get wonderfully lost and fill your belly at Chandni Chowk, one of the city’s oldest bazaars, which is conveniently just a 5-minute walk from Red Fort. Finally, experience Delhi’s nightlife. Hauz Khas and the Outer Circle of Connaught Place are both popular options. Phew. 

Loose-fitting, lightweight and breathable fabrics and comfortable shoes are Delhi essentials. Long sleeves will save you from the harsh heat and when you are visiting sacred sites, remember that men and women need to cover shoulders and knees.

For a cultural experience, Old Delhi offers ancient monuments such as the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. For a more modern experience, New Delhi offers shopping and dining options in markets like Connaught Place and Hauz Khas Village.
